Description	Miss Norma West OBE held the senior nursing position at the Rockhampton Hospital from 19 July 1971 until 2001. Initially the position carried the title Matron, but subsequent changes led to the position being titled Nursing Superintendent for a few years and then Dire3ctor of Nursing. She was awarded the OBE in 1983 for her service to nursing. She had undertaken her initial training at the Bundaberg Hospital.
